Clean mod, custom motherboard plate, original PSU casing – these are all things that you are going to want to think about and decide for yourself. The first thing any of us would suggest you do (after reading the FAQ), is take a look at some of the mods people have already done to get some inspiration. Any images presented here remain the property of their respective owners, and are shown here for instructional purposes only. This is the original G5 resource page – some links may be outdated but I have tried to port over as much info as possible. You will need a good amount of tools, parts and know-how, which is exactly why this resource page came into being. That said, modding one for mATX/ATX isn’t just a matter of replacing the motherboard. Many of us are drawn to the G5 (and mac pro) cases by the sheer elegance of their design, and there’s no doubt that they are beautiful outside and in. There are hundreds of steps, with plenty of muttered curses and band-aids along the way but don’t let that put you off! It is one of the most enjoyable case mods (and cases) that you can put your time into. He hadn't made it easy for us - modding Apple's Powermac G5 and Mac Pro cases is a rewarding - but very complex - project. We took issue with Apple's hardware/software policies, but really loved Jonny Ive's cases.
